Carabao Cup Final Tickets

The Carabao Cup final is, along with the FA Cup final, the biggest domestic cup final in English football. Also known as the League Cup final, Carabao Cup final tickets are offered to more fans of the two clubs involved than FA Cup final tickets.
The Football League Cup began in the 1960-61 season when Aston Villa were the first winners of the competition. Though the first final was played over two legs, by the end of the decade the final had become a showpiece game at Wembley. The League Cup also had some surprise winners in its early days, including then Third Division sides QPR and Swindon Town.

From the late 1960s onwards and throughout the 1970s, the League Cup grew in importance. While another incentive for clubs to win the competition was a place in the UEFA Cup. It wasn't until 1982 that the competition was first sponsored, when it was known as the Milk Cup.

The 1980s saw some unlikely winners of the League Cup in Oxford United and Luton Town. For both clubs, winning the League Cup was the first major trophy in their respective histories. More familiar names have dominated the competition since the 1990s, and Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have all won the League Cup four times since 1990. From 2001 to 2007 finals were held in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, before returning to Wembley after the old stadium had been rebuilt.

Carabao's sponsorship began in 2012, and the 2013 Carabao Cup final was notable for Bradford City from the fourth tier of English football reaching the final. Their opponents, Swansea City, won the final 5-0, and in doing so became the first Welsh side to win the trophy.

In the 2015-16 season all four teams that reached the semi-finals were Premier League clubs - Everton, Manchester City, Liverpool and Stoke City. Only Everton have never won the League Cup before, and Liverpool's 8 wins is a competition record. Due to the size of the clubs involved, Carabao tickets will be in greater demand than usual for the latter stages of this season's competition.

Fans with Carabao tickets for this season's competition have already seen some impressive performances and upsets, including Sheffield Wednesday beating Arsenal 3-0, and Liverpool winning 6-1 at Southampton. Arguably, Carabao Cup final tickets provide fans with a better atmosphere than even an FA Cup final, simply because there are more fans from the two clubs at Wembley.
